This romantic vintage red velvet dress was custom-made in the late 1930s (possibly early 1940s), and is entirely one-of-a-kind. The maxi-length crushed red velvet is so rich. It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage maternity dress. Closes in the back with a zipper.

The Antique Victorian Heart Locket pictured is also available. 

Measurements: This will best fit a size X-Small, Small and possibly Medium; please refer to below measurements. It is smaller through the shoulders and chest, with more flexibility through the waist and hips.

Empire waist/underbust: about 29", gathering offers some forgiveness there
Hips are open up to 45"
Length: 53"


Good vintage condition overall; there were some repairs made to the fabric at the bottom skirt towards hem. I ordered two blankets to replace the queen size blanket I had originally, one being a throw blanket for the chase portion of the couch and the larger twin size blanket for the back rest of the couch. I’m gonna have to be careful with the drying process as to not damage the synthetic fibers. CONS: the color…. It’s not what was advertised at all. I ordered the brown/grey. what I got was more of a SANDY TAN/DARK GREY. (They use a color filter on the example photos which doesn’t translate well in person) At first I hated the color but it slowly grew on me! Works well with the rest of the living room decor and gives our space a cozy elegant vibe. I included photos of different times throughout the day to showcase how different lighting affects the color of the fur.
